Yeah, that’s pretty much where we’re at, although we knew it before we put in an offer on this place. We still call the cable companies now and then to check, but my guess is we’re years away from having any other options. What sucks is there is probably a nice fat fiber pipeline along Hwy 2, about a mile from the house, but there’s no way for us to tap into it. We’ve looked into satellite, but it’s capped. So is Verizon’s 4g option, although if I need it at some point I’ll get that solely for my work needs and will just lock all the video game players out of it. 😉
Lucky for us that the Frontier account we have will work for what we absolutely need to do right now. For someone who has more non-negotiable high-bandwidth needs, it would definitely be a no-go.
