Tiny stoves

Interestingly, a quick search on Amazon turns up a number of these sorts of wood stoves. Cheap, and probably seriously overpowered heat-wise for a tiny house. Probably perfect for what we are looking at! Couple that with a little microwave and toaster oven, and you would be able to cook and heat the place.

AGA tiny range & ovens

This is frickin’ adorable, and I love the two oven thing. It’s just under 24″ square on top, and it’s called dual-fuel. It says it’s electric and can use natural gas or LPG (propane?). Very cool, but no price here… holy &*%^… a google search tells me these lovelies sell for $5,700!!! If anyone […]

Washer/dryer combo

This! Or, something like it. Worth considering. About $650. Electric, not gas. Neat.

LandBook: The small landowner’s guide to buying, improving, maintaining and selling rural land

Some of the reading I’ve done points to this book as being the “bible” of buying rural land. The last printing is from 2000, so I suspect that it may be pretty out of date. I’m going to see if I can’t check it out from the […]

Cordwood Building: The State of the Art

Cordwood Building: The State of the Art

This is a book I checked out on a whim from the library, and I just bought a physical copy, even though I’m only halfway through it so far. Basically, it deals with a method of building that I find very compelling and interesting: using cordwood laid end-out […]

Tiny House Living

Tiny House Living: Ideas For Building and Living Well In Less than 400 Square Feet

I think this was one of the first books I skimmed in a bookstore a few years back when I was getting seriously interested in the whole tiny house concept; a lot of the text is familiar as I read […]

Book reviews

As I am digging into the whole tiny house (and related) areas of reading, I intend to post pocket reviews of what I run across, both for later reference, and to identify which books I end up with physical copies of to make lending them out later a bit easier. Watch this space (Reference category, […]
